Job summary

The City of Sandy Springs is seeking a TSPLOST Utility Coordinator to join the Public Works team and lead utility coordination and relocation activities for transportation projects. This role serves as the central point of contact for coordinating with designers, contractors, and utility providers to keep relocations documented, permitted, and on schedule.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Three (3) years of experience in the transportation field relating to utilities; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
• Valid Georgia driver's license required.
• Must be comfortable operating a City-owned vehicle.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to build effective working relationships with coworkers, City officials, consultants, contractors, and external utility representatives.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and track utility relocation activities for assigned projects, including submissions, agreements, schedules, and permitting.
• Monitor utility relocation progress and identify potential issues that could affect project schedules.
• Prepare weekly project status reports and communicate updates to project stakeholders.
• Coordinate monthly utility meetings with external utility providers in partnership with the Field Services Utility Manager.
• Serve as a primary point of contact for external utility representatives and work collaboratively to resolve utility-related issues.
• Attend project meetings, utility coordination meetings, and project site visits as needed.
• Maintain accurate utility records, project documentation, and utility provider contact information.
• Assist with developing and improving Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for utility coordination.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
