Job summary

TSMC Arizona is seeking an HR Systems Forward Deployed Engineer to translate HR workflows into production-grade AI-driven solutions. You will prototype with Generative AI, LLMs, and agents, validate with HR end users, and partner with IT to deploy secure systems.

You will collaborate with HR partners, understand manufacturing context, and deliver quick-win prototypes while maintaining high reliability and data privacy. The role is on-site at the Phoenix facility with competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, MIS, Data Science, Industrial Engineering, or related field; OR minimum 2 years of professional experience in software development, systems integration, and AI/ML work with Bachelor degree in same fields.
• Strong programming skills (Python preferred) with ability to quickly build working prototypes (e.g., Streamlit, Gradio, FastAPI).
• Working knowledge of Generative AI concepts and APIs (OpenAI, Anthropic).

• As an HR Systems Forward Deployed Engineer, you will work side by side with our HR business partners to turn their real workflow pain points into working system solutions. You’ll rapidly design and build functional prototypes using Generative AI, LLMs, and agents, validate them directly with HR end users, and partner with IT team to transition the best ideas into secure, production-ready systems—bridging the gap between HR’s needs and modern AI technology.

Minimum Qualifications/Requirements

Education:

• Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Management Information Systems (MIS), Data Science, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical/engineering field; OR minimum 2 years of professional experience in software development, systems integration, and AI/ML work with Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Management Information Systems (MIS), Data Science, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical/engineering field

Technical Skills

1. Strong programming skills (Python preferred) with the ability to quickly build working prototypes (e.g., using Streamlit, Gradio, FastAPI, or similar).
2. Working knowledge of Generative AI concepts and APIs (e.g., OpenAI, Anthropic) — deep AI/ML specialization not required, but comfort building with these tools is.

1. High learning agility with the ability to quickly grasp complex semiconductor manufacturing concepts, HR workflows, engineering processes, and business logic.

Physical Requirements

1. Primarily an office-based role requiring the ability to sit for extended periods while working at a computer.
2. Ability to use a computer, keyboard, mouse, and other standard office equipment for prolonged periods.
3. Ability to occasionally stand, walk, reach, bend, and carry objects up to 10 lbs.

Preferred Qualifications/Requirements

Technical Skills

1. Prior exposure to HR systems (HRMS, Payroll, ATS, Time & Attendance, or Performance Management).
2. Experience with orchestration frameworks (LangChain, LlamaIndex) or vector databases (Pinecone, Milvus, Chroma).
3. Front-end or full-stack development experience.
4. Awareness of data privacy/PII handling best practices.

Shift

• TSMC Arizona operates 24/7, 365 days a year. This position requires candidates to have the ability and willingness to work from Monday through Friday 9am-6pm, and work on-call every 2 months. When on-call, candidates are expected to respond to the call 24x7 for that whole week.
