Job summary

Amentum is seeking a Technical Editor (Mid-Level) to support the Defense Intelligence Agency’s Defense Intelligence Enterprise. The editor will ensure clarity, logic, and adherence to agency style and classification standards, working with analysts to strengthen every product.

This role requires a TS/SCI clearance, 8+ years editing experience, and a bachelor’s degree in English, journalism, or communications. The position is contingent on security, funding, and contract award.

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI clearance
• 8+ years of relevant editing experience, with recent experience within the last 2 years
• Bachelor’s degree in English, journalism, communications, or a related field
• Command of IC and DoD classification marking guidance
• The diplomacy to tell an analyst their draft needs work, and the skill to help them fix it

Responsibilities

• Review intelligence products for proper grammar, punctuation, and syntax, and, more importantly, for logic, clarity, and consistency
• Ensure style and format conform to agency publication standards, prescribed style guides, and the specialized vocabulary of the subject matter
• Amend draft tables, tone boxes, and graphics so visual content supports and stays consistent with the accompanying text
• Ensure proper classification markings in accordance with IC guidance on every product
• Work directly with authors to revise products for narrative organization, and negotiate further revisions as needed
