Job summary

Insight Global in Englewood, CO is seeking a Systems Engineering IPT Lead for a satellite development program. You will lead the SE IPT, oversee technical, cost, and schedule execution, and coordinate across SE domains to meet customer requirements.

The role requires TS/SCI clearance, extensive space engineering experience, and hands-on MBSE and traditional SE activities, including CONOPS, ICDs, and system-level testing, with on-site work in Colorado.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Engineering or related technical discipline (or equivalent engineering experience)
  • 12+ years with a Bachelor's, 10+ years with a Master's, or 7+ years with a PhD
  • Active DoD Top Secret (TS) clearance with ability to obtain TS/SCI
  • Prior experience in the space domain and satellite segment design (required)
  • Hands-on Systems Engineering experience developing core SE work products: CONOPS, System Architecture, Requirements & Interface Control Documents, Mission/System Analysis, Trade Studies
  • Experience leading requirements verification through assembly, integration, and test (AI&T), including system-level test
  • Experience contributing to or leading major design and readiness reviews (SRR, PDR, CDR, TRR, ORR)
  • Familiarity with both traditional SE and MBSE approaches
  • Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills with ability to interface with customers, subcontractors, mission partners, and government representatives
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional engineering teams and drive cost/schedule execution Prior experience as an IPT Lead or Technical Lead on a space/satellite program (strongly desired)
  • Active TS/SCI clearance
  • Hands-on experience with Cameo / MagicDraw, DOORS, STK, Atlassian (Jira/Confluence)
  • Experience as a Control Account Manager (CAM) with EVM responsibilities for assigned control accounts
  • Experience defining and managing IMS tasks to achieve program milestones
  • Background across the full SE IPT scope: Mission & Space Vehicle SE, Cyber Security SE, Specialty Engineering, Launch System Integration SE, Modeling & Simulation, System-Level Test
  • Experience supporting proposals, internal R&D, and new business pursuits
  • Prior work with DoD, civil, intelligence, or commercial space customers

A leading defense and space technology client is hiring a Systems Engineering IPT Lead to support a satellite development program in Englewood, CO. Day-to-day, this person will lead the Systems Engineering Integrated Product Team (IPT) and be fully accountable for technical, cost, and schedule execution of the SE effort on their assigned program. They'll provide technical oversight and direction across the full SE IPT, which typically includes Mission and Space Vehicle SE, Cyber Security SE, Specialty Engineering, Launch System Integration SE, Modeling & Simulation, and System-Level Test, ensuring all work products are produced in accordance with the project plan, satisfy customer requirements, and are completed on cost and schedule. As the Control Account Manager for assigned control accounts, they'll define IMS tasks required to complete IPT scope and drive execution toward program milestones. Using both traditional and Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) approaches, this person will lead and contribute to the development of core SE work products, CONOPS, System Architecture, Requirements & Interface Control Documents, Mission/System Analysis, and Trade Studies, and lead the effort for requirement verification through the assembly, integration, and test process, including system-level test. They'll contribute to program design and readiness reviews, collaborate with SE leadership and peers to ensure consistent SE practices across programs, and serve as the primary external technical contact, frequently engaging with customers, subcontractors, and mission partners. Additional opportunities will arise to support internal R&D and new business pursuits as the program portfolio grows. This position will be on-site in Englewood, Colorado and is offering a base salary of $116,480 - $208,505k based on years of experience.
