Job summary

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Systems Engineer to join a USAF program in San Diego, CA. You will help maintain system architecture models using MBSE tools and collaborate across software, hardware, and test teams to ensure a cohesive system design.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and 5+ years of systems engineering experience, with hands-on MBSE and Cameo or Sparx Enterprise Architect expertise, plus DOORS/JAMA requirements management exposure.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related technical discipline.
• 5+ years of systems engineering and architecture experience in major system acquisitions.
• Strong experience with MBSE.
• Hands-on experience with Cameo Systems Architect and/or Sparx Enterprise Architect.
• Experience with requirements management tools such as DOORS or JAMA.
• Experience supporting requirements development, verification, compliance, and architectural trade studies.

Responsibilities

• Apply systems engineering principles across the full lifecycle of a technical program, from concept to disposal.
• Develop and maintain system architecture models using MBSE tools (MBSE).
• Lead the definition, decomposition, and management of system requirements with traceability.
• Conduct trade studies, analyses of alternatives, and risk assessments.
• Define and manage system interfaces for interoperability between components.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams across software, hardware, and test engineers.
• Support system integration, verification, and validation activities.
• Prepare technical documentation and briefings for stakeholders.
• Work with program management to ensure solutions are on schedule and within budget.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements within the program.
