Job summary

Warfare Systems (WS), a business group within HII’s Mission Technologies division, seeks a network engineer to support DoD mission systems and secure network infrastructures in a federal contracting environment.

You will configure routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs, and monitor performance, perform fault analysis, and assist with system upgrades while maintaining RMF compliance and DoD 8570 IAT II standards. A bachelor’s degree and 5 years of experience are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 5 years hands‑on experience supporting enterprise or tactical network environments.
• DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification or ability to obtain.
• Active TS/SCI clearance.

Responsibilities

• Support the planning, implementation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of secure network infrastructures.
• Configure, monitor, and maintain routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs, and other network devices.
• Perform network performance analysis, fault isolation, and root‑cause investigations.
• Assist with network upgrades, technology refreshes, and the integration of new systems or capabilities.
• Implement and maintain network security controls aligned with DoW and DAF cybersecurity policies.
• Support accreditation, compliance, and documentation activities under RMF and related processes.
• Maintain documentation including network diagrams, configuration baselines, SOPs, and change records.
• Provide user support and technical guidance to on‑site personnel and mission operators.
• Participate in on‑call or after‑hours support as required by mission operations.
