Job summary

Base-2 Solutions is hiring a DevOps Software Engineer to design, develop, and deploy a state-of-the-art D3P stack for the DIE. The role emphasizes on-site work in Bethesda, MD with flexible scheduling and occasional remote tasks.

You will optimize a production pipeline using Kubernetes, Elasticsearch, and Kafka, while advancing CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure, and feature delivery in an Agile environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or related field with 8+ years in software development or related area.
• Master's degree with 6+ years in software development or related field.
• Equivalent experience in lieu of degree with additional years accepted.
• DoD 8570.01-M IAT Level II or higher certification required (e.g., CCNA Security, CySA+, Security+ CE, SSCP, CISSP).

Responsibilities

• Deploy, triage, and maintain a production big data pipeline on Kubernetes with Elasticsearch and Kafka.
• Enhance CI/CD scripts and processes for faster development and resilient deployments.
• Design and support scalable, redundant infrastructure (physical/virtual).
• Configure Kubernetes deployments with Helm for new features.
• Collaborate with System Engineers to design solutions for new features.
• Contribute to systems engineering docs and diagrams with SE/Architect teams.
• Participate in Agile release planning and scrum activities.
