Job summary

VTG is seeking an Operations & Maintenance (O&M) SME in Fairfax, VA, to develop comprehensive manuals and reference materials for complex technical systems. The role emphasizes learning system functionality through training and collaboration with engineers, technicians, and vendors, then translating that knowledge into clear operational guidance.

Qualifications

• Must have an active TS/SCI with Polygraph clearance.
• Experience developing technical documentation, operations manuals, or SOPs for complex systems.
• Ability to quickly learn and understand specialized technical systems through training and hands-on observation.

Responsibilities

• Attend formal training, vendor-led instruction, and briefings to learn system functionality.
• Observe system operations and maintenance activities to capture procedures.
• Develop O&M manuals, SOPs, and reference materials for systems.
• Document system functionality, procedures, maintenance requirements, troubleshooting steps, and safety considerations.
• Maintain version control and update documentation as systems evolve.
• Collaborate with engineers, technicians, and operators to validate technical data.
• Travel CONUS and OCONUS as required to observe operations and coordinate with vendors.
