Job summary

Visionist, Inc. seeks a Lead Systems Engineer to guide two system admins and a 25+ member engineering team on a major PRIME contract. The role requires TS/SCI with polygraph and focuses on scalable Linux platforms, automation, and secure operations.

You will drive architecture decisions, implement automation, and ensure SSP compliance across AWS and on-prem environments while partnering with mission leadership and policy makers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 12 years of system engineering experience.
• Strong Linux admin skills with RHEL9 and automation tooling.
• Experience with AWS and observability stacks, SSP compliance.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily activities of system administrators and collaborate with 25+ developers.
• Provide architecture guidance and maintain system health across EC2, MASH, bare-metal, and cloud environments.
• Develop automation, monitoring, backup, and disaster recovery plans.
• Maintain CI/CD and deployment pipelines using GitLab and related tools.
• Oversee SSP accreditation activities and documentation.
