Global Payments is seeking a Lead DevOps Engineer to lead the AI/ML Data Platform team, driving reliability, scalability, and performance of data/AI platforms used across a global payments network.

You will shape cloud platform strategy, accelerate software delivery through IaC, and build enterprise-grade CI/CD pipelines while championing DevOps best practices across multiple teams. Our globally distributed environment values security, resilience, and collaboration.

Qualifications

• Proven success leading engineering initiatives, cloud transformations, or complex infrastructure projects.
• Deep expertise in cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP with modern cloud architecture principles.
• Advanced experience with IaC practices (Terraform, Ansible) to improve scalability and reliability.

What you'll own

• Shape the cloud platform strategy by designing scalable, secure, and resilient infrastructure that enables data and AI initiatives to grow efficiently and deliver measurable business value.
• Accelerate software delivery outcomes through automation and Infrastructure as Code (IaC), improving deployment consistency, reducing operational risk, and increasing engineering productivity.
• Drive continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) excellence by building and optimizing enterprise-grade pipelines that reduce time-to-market and improve release reliability.
• Influence platform reliability and performance through proactive monitoring, testing, and operational improvements that maximize system availability, security, and user confidence.
• Champion DevOps best practices across teams by partnering with engineers, sharing expertise, and creating scalable solutions that strengthen collaboration, innovation, and long-term platform success.

What you'll bring

• Proven success leading engineering initiatives, cloud transformations, or complex infrastructure projects with measurable business and technology outcomes.
• Deep expertise in cloud platforms such as Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP), with a strong understanding of modern cloud architecture principles.
• Advanced experience with Terraform, Ansible, and Infrastructure as Code practices that improve scalability, consistency, and operational efficiency.
• Strong proficiency with Docker, Kubernetes, GitHub, and GitHub Actions, with demonstrated success building and managing modern cloud-native environments.
• Comprehensive understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), DevOps methodologies, and CI/CD automation, with the ability to influence engineering excellence across teams.

It’s a bonus if you have

• Experience supporting AI, machine learning, or data analytics platforms and translating business needs into scalable technical solutions.
• Demonstrated success leading DevSecOps, platform engineering, or technical modernization initiatives that improve security, governance, and developer experience.
• Ability to build alignment across cross‑functional teams, influence stakeholders without direct authority, and foster a culture of learning and knowledge sharing.
