Fischer Harbage seeks an Associate to Mid-level Trusts and Estates attorney in New York who enjoys advising individuals and families on estate planning and wealth transfer strategies. You will collaborate with a highly engaged team to handle comprehensive planning for individuals and high-net-worth clients.

The role requires mentoring junior attorneys, strong tax knowledge, and the ability to manage sophisticated planning matters with cross-border considerations.

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school.
• Admission to practice in New York.
• 3–5 years of substantial estate planning experience.
• Strong knowledge of federal and New York gift, estate, and generation-skipping transfer tax planning.
• Ability to mentor junior attorneys.

Responsibilities

• Advise clients on sophisticated estate and wealth transfer strategies.
• Design and implement complex estate plans with tax considerations.
• Draft and review wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and related instruments.
• Counsel clients on charitable giving, business succession, and multi-jurisdiction planning.
• Independently manage probate and administration proceedings with Surrogate's Court.
