Job summary

Cullen and Dykman LLP seeks an experienced Associate to join its Trusts & Estates team in Battery Park, NYC, or Uniondale, Long Island. This role offers immediate responsibility within an established practice with a diversified client base.

You will oversee probate and wealth transfer planning, draft wills and related documents, and manage estate administration while advising families. A JD and NY admission are required; LLM in tax is a plus. Salary is $160,000-$190,000 with competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in trust and estate planning.
• JD degree with excellent academic credentials.
• Admitted and in good standing in New York State.
• LLM in tax a plus but not required.
• Tax, special needs planning and elder law experience are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead and advise clients and families on customized estate planning and wealth transfer strategies, probate proceedings and planning of complex estates.
• Draft, review, and oversee estate planning documents, including wills, trusts, powers of attorney, advanced directives, and related planning tools.
• Manage all aspects of trust and estate administration.

Salary Range: $160,000.00 To $190,000.00 Annually

Position Overview:

The Firm is seeking to add an Associate to its Trusts & Estates team in our Battery Park, NYC or Uniondale, Long Island offices. This is a unique opportunity for an experienced attorney to step into an established trusts and estates practice with an existing client base and significant responsibility from day one. The role will oversee the preparation of wills and other wealth transfer documents for clients with varying family circumstances and levels of wealth.

Job Duties:

• Lead and advise clients and families on customized estate planning and wealth transfer strategies, probate proceedings and planning of complex estates.
• Draft, review, and oversee estate planning documents, including wills, trusts, powers of attorney, advance directives, and related planning tools.
• Manage all aspects of trust and estate administration.
• Manage the client experience from initial consultation through drafting, signing, and follow-up.
• Maintain knowledge of estate planning, tax, and asset protection developments to enable thoughtful legal guidance.

Requirements:

Compensation & Benefits:
