Job summary

Plante Moran seeks a Trust Tax Lead to oversee complex trust tax operations, including 1041 compliance, distributions review, funding, and planning. You will mentor staff and interns, manage peak workloads during tax season, and collaborate with PMT and wealth management teams to ensure accurate, timely client deliverables.

This exempt role requires CPA, a bachelor's in accounting or finance, and 5+ years of specialized trust tax expertise.

Qualifications

• Ability to manage high-complexity trust tax tasks with accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Oversee advanced trust tax operations for PMT, including 1041 compliance, review of trust distributions and funding, and tax planning.
• Manage PMT tax requirements, including RMDs and 1099 reporting, ensuring IRS compliance.
• Lead and develop team members, supervising staff and interns assigned to engagements.
• Maintain accountability for projects and timely client deliverables within deadlines.
• Engage with the PMT Trust team via meetings, committees and training initiatives.
• Leverage technology to maximize project efficiency and hold the engagement team to standards.
