Job summary

Partiful is seeking a Trust & Safety engineer to deepen protection across the platform, focusing on detection, investigation, and mitigation of fraud, phishing, and abuse. This backend-leaning role emphasizes speed, high ownership, and technical excellence.

You’ll work with Operations, Support, Data Science, and Product teams to keep privacy and safety at the core of our evolving product and to accelerate safe, scalable growth.

Qualifications

• 3–11 years of full-stack, infra, or applied machine learning experience in a fast-paced environment.
• 2+ years in trust & safety; consumer social experience preferred.
• Experience building end-to-end enforcement systems: detection, action pipelines, escalation, appeals.
• Fluency with common abuse vectors on consumer platforms.
• Familiar with legal, regulatory, and compliance requirements for trust systems.
• Experience designing serverless or event-driven systems at scale.
• Strong CI/CD practices and observability fundamentals.
• Proficiency with Sentry and GCP logging/metrics.
• Solid networking, security, and performance tuning basics.
• Comfort with Typescript/Node.js and building scalable APIs.

Responsibilities

• Architect and implement AI-powered systems for real-time decision-making and policy enforcement at scale.
• Build observability tooling to monitor abuse trends and respond to novel attack patterns quickly.
• Balance risk and user experience; minimize friction while protecting users.
• Collaborate with Operations to translate policy into scalable rules.
• Empower Support with tooling, escalation paths, and appeal workflows.
• Work with Data Science on threat and anomaly detection.
• Partner with Product Engineering and Design to embed privacy and safety into the product.
• Participate in an on-call rotation for Trust & Safety incidents.
