Job summary

Google is seeking an Engineering Analyst for Trust and Safety - AdSpam in the United States. The role entails applying advanced statistical methods to large data sets, conducting fraud investigations, and collaborating with engineers to strengthen anti-abuse systems.

You will help protect users and advertisers across Google products, including ads and video ecosystems. Responsibilities include analyzing abuse impact, driving scalable enforcement, and participating in on-call coverage.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 2 years of experience in data analysis, including identifying trends, generating summary statistics, and drawing insights from quantitative and qualitative data.
• 2 years of experience managing projects and defining project scope, goals, and deliverables.
• Master's degree in a quantitative discipline (preferred).
• 2 years of experience with SQL, R, Python, or C++ (preferred).
• 2 years of experience with machine learning systems (preferred).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Apply advanced statistical methods to large complex data sets to analyze impact of abuse on the Video ads ecosystem.
• Perform fraud and spam investigations using various data sources, identify product vulnerabilities and drive anti-abuse experiments to prevent abuse.
• Work with engineers and stakeholders to improve workflows via process improvements, automation and anti-abuse system creation.
• Conduct complex fraud investigations using data and identify gaps in current defenses, explore/experiment with new signals and develop solutions for scalable enforcement on non-compliant publisher inventory with a focus on Video ads.
• Perform on-call responsibilities on a rotating basis, including weekend coverage/holidays. This role works with sensitive content or situations and may be exposed to graphic, controversial, or upsetting topics or content.
