Job summary

Capital First Trust Company in Milwaukee seeks a Trust Officer responsible for day-to-day administration of a diverse portfolio of trust accounts, ensuring compliance with laws and procedures, and delivering relationship-centered service to clients and beneficiaries.

The role involves coordinating with attorneys, CPAs, and advisors, handling complex personal trust portfolios, and mentoring staff while maintaining thorough records. Travel for business development is required and Spanish is a plus.

Qualifications

• Strong communication and relationship management skills.
• Knowledge of nonprofit and government assistance programs, social services, case management, estate administration, and/or settlement/special needs trust administration is preferred.
• Understanding of Social Security, Medicaid, and other means-tested programs is beneficial.
• Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience; professional credentials are a plus.
• Some travel is required for business development opportunities.
• Spanish speaking is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Foster inclusive, respectful service for clients with disabilities.
• Build trusted client relationships through consistent service and clear communication.
• Guide beneficiaries and their representatives through trust administration, life events, and distributions considering eligibility and future needs.
• Coordinate with estate planning attorneys, CPAs, financial advisors and settlement planners on trust administration.
• Administer a complex portfolio of personal trust accounts with compliant records and regulatory adherence.
• Document discretionary decisions with fiduciary rationale for the file and peer review.
• Complete routine reviews of trust administration and mitigate risks proactively.
• Mentor colleagues in settlement and special needs trust administration.
