Job summary

Superior National Bank seeks an organized Trust & Wealth Management professional to assist clients with trust and estate administration and to promote long-lasting client relationships in Hancock. You will review accounts, manage cash categorization, tax reporting, and coordinate with the Trust Investment Officer on asset allocation.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in business or finance, 3+ years in trust/banking, and a self-motivated, detail-oriented mindset to pursue new business

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business, finance, or related field or equivalent experience required.
  • CTFA and/or CFP® preferred but not required.
  • Three or more years of experience in a Trust & Wealth Management or banking environment preferred.
  • Motivated self-starter with strong organizational and project management skills and the ability to work independently and set priorities.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for all aspects of trust administration, including quality checking of new account setup, annual reviews, and ongoing relationship management.
  • Review and analyze new account documents.
  • Regular review of all accounts to ensure proper categorization of cash (principal and income), cost basis, tax reporting, and all other aspects of each account.
  • Resolve tax and other account issues.
  • Anticipate client needs and advise accordingly.
  • Monitor fee schedules to ensure that fees charged are in compliance with governing documents.
  • Interact with clients in defining goals and objectives, working with the Trust Investment Officer to establish asset allocation and approve portfolio changes in complex situations.
  • Meet with clients via telephone, virtually or in-person, as required.
  • Proactively seek new Trust & Wealth Management business opportunities.
  • Promote additional business, generate client referrals, and deepen relationships with clients, prospects, and centers of influence.

Education

Summary: Assists Trust & Wealth Management clients with trust and estate administration. Promotes positive, long-lasting client relationships. Proactively seeks new Trust & Wealth Management business opportunities.

Major Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for all aspects of trust administration, including quality checking of new account setup, annual reviews, and ongoing relationship management.
    • Review and analyze new account documents.
    • Regular review of all accounts to ensure proper categorization of cash (principal and income), cost basis, tax reporting, and all other aspects of each account.
    • Resolve tax and other account issues.

    • Monitor fee schedules to ensure that fees charged are in compliance with governing documents.
  • Interacts with clients in defining goals and objectives, working with the Trust Investment Officer to establish the appropriate asset allocation and to review and approve portfolio changes in trust involving more complex situations and/or assets.
    • Meet with clients via telephone, virtually or in-person, as required.
  • Proactively seek new Trust & Wealth Management business opportunities.
    • Promote additional business, generate client referrals, and deepen relationships with clients, prospects, and centers of influence.
    • Work with various areas of the Bank to identify cross-selling opportunities.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Education & Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in business, finance, or related field or equivalent experience required.
  • CTFA and/or CFP® preferred but not required.
  • Three or more years of experience in a Trust & Wealth Management or banking environment preferred.
  • Motivated self-starter with strong organizational and project management skills and the ability to work independently and set priorities.
