Job description

A well-established, mid-sized full-service law firm in Philadelphia is seeking an experienced Trusts & Estates attorney to lead its highly regarded practice. The firm has served individuals, families, and businesses throughout the region for more than 50 years and offers a collegial environment, sophisticated work, and an excellent quality of life.

The Trusts & Estates group has a longstanding reputation for advising high-net-worth individuals and families on sophisticated estate planning and administration matters. Following the retirement of the practice’s longtime senior partner, the firm seeks a partner-level attorney to step into a leadership role and guide the continued growth of the group.

The incoming partner will inherit an established practice supported by an experienced associate and two dedicated paralegals. This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney who wants to lead a respected practice without the pressure of bringing a substantial portable book of business. Existing business is welcome but is not required.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee the firm’s Trusts & Estates practice
• Counsel high-net-worth individuals and families on sophisticated estate planning matters
• Handle estate and trust administration
• Advise clients regarding tax-efficient wealth transfer and succession-planning strategies
• Supervise and mentor an associate and experienced paralegal team
• Maintain and strengthen relationships with the firm’s existing clients and referral sources
• Collaborate with attorneys across the firm on related corporate, real estate, tax, and litigation matters
• Help shape the strategic direction and future growth of the practice

Qualifications

• Significant experience in trusts and estates law, including estate planning and administration
• Ability to independently manage sophisticated matters and client relationships
• Leadership experience or a genuine interest in leading and developing a practice group
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and client-service skills
• Admission to the Pennsylvania Bar
• Portable business is welcome but not required
• LLM in Taxation is preferred.
