Job description

Successful west side law firm is currently searching for a Paralegal/Legal Assistant with experience in Trust & Estates and Probate law, to assist a team with a very busy practice. This position will work collaboratively with all parties involved in the planning and succession process. You will work with attorneys that partner with their clients and other financial advisors.

Responsibilities include:
  • Establish and maintain relationships with clients throughout the administration while acting as a liaison between clients and attorneys.
  • Draft and disseminate various documents, including court documents, correspondence, estate planning documents, real estate forms, notes and discussions with attorneys.
  • Interpret wills and trust documents to establish the estate and/or trust process.
  • Interact with banks, accountants, brokerage firms, and financial advisors as well as County Circuit Courts.
  • Draft and prepare probate filings.

Ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree, 2-6 years' experience in these practice areas, as well as a solid understanding of Trusts & Estates. A paralegal certificate is a plus!

Must have exceptional organizational skills, the ability to grasp concepts quickly and efficiently, attention to detail, and the ability to multi-task. Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills. Be an independent thinker and self-starter. Advanced Microsoft skills are mandatory, and intellectual curiosity would be great. A high level of professionalism is a must!
