Job description
Overview

This is a rare and exciting opportunity for an onshore lawyer with strong trusts experience to relocate to the Caribbean and build a successful career with a leading offshore firm. Based in the Cayman Islands, you will join a highly regarded Trusts & Private Wealth team advising professional trustees, investment managers, family offices and high net worth individuals on the full gamut of matters, often incorporating significant cross-border elements.

Qualifications

Applicants should be admitted in a recognised Commonwealth jurisdiction with 3-5 years' PQE and proven experience in trust law, probate and wealth structuring. Experience in trust and supplemental deed drafting, wills, probate applications, advisory work, family office planning and restructuring exercises will be essential. Exposure to trust litigation, such as legal research, pleadings and court liaison, would be advantageous, while knowledge of regulatory matters including beneficial ownership, sanctions and data protection would also be welcomed, but not essential.

  • Managing non-contentious applications and supporting contentious disputes before the Grand Court.
  • Drafting trust instruments, supplemental deeds and estate planning documentation.
  • Engaging in business development, marketing and client relationship management.
  • Contributing to knowledge sharing and supporting junior team members.
