We have an immediate opening for a full-time senior level / partner level Trust and Estates attorney. Be part of our burgeoning practice, implementing sophisticated planning techniques on behalf of clients. We are looking for an excellent attorney that is a self-starter, entrepreneurial and detail-oriented, in a position that demands outstanding interpersonal skills. This rare opportunity has the potential to shape and lead an important practice area in the firm.

REQUIREMENTS AND DETAILS:
  • Experienced trust and estate planning lawyer with broad experience including complex estate, tax and wealth planning.
  • LLM in Taxation preferred.
  • Minimum five years’ experience.
  • Primary areas include estate and tax planning for high-net-worth individuals and families, estate administration, income tax, transfer tax and charitable planning, as well as pass-through entity (LLCs and LPs) and business succession planning.
  • Firm supports business development and path to partnership.
  • No book of business required (but having a book of business can impact starting salary).
  • Position requires superior communication, drafting, writing, research and analytical skills, with the ability to work both independently and as a team member.
  • Experience and expertise in Federal and California or New York tax law required.
  • Licensed in California or New York.
  • Solid work ethic and ambitious in a team context – not at the expense of team.
  • Client service orientation and high touch responsiveness expected.
  • Proficiency with technology – ideally, self-sufficient in generation of routine work product. Familiarity with estate drafting software preferred; strong knowledge of estate and gift tax compliance is a plus.
Compensation and Benefits:
  • Salary: $125,000 to $200,000, depending on experience and book of business.
