Job Overview:

A highly reputable law firm is seeking a skilled Trust & Estates Attorney to join its New York office. This position is ideal for attorneys with 5+ years of experience, particularly those with expertise in complex estate planning, asset protection planning, and trusts & estates administration. An ideal candidate will also have an LLM in Taxation or a CPA. The role offers the opportunity to work on high-level matters in a collaborative environment, with access to interesting work and mentorship from senior attorneys.

Duties:
  1. Provide comprehensive legal advice and services in the areas of complex estate planning, asset protection planning, and trusts & estates administration.
  2. Draft wills, trusts, and other related documents.
  3. Advise clients on tax-efficient estate planning strategies.
  4. Represent clients in estate administration, including probate and trust administration.
  5. Assist clients with the transfer of assets, business succession planning, and charitable giving.
  6. Collaborate with clients and other professionals (e.g., accountants, financial advisors) to achieve clients' goals.
  7. Stay current on relevant laws, regulations, and case law related to estate planning and tax matters.
Requirements:
  1. 5+ years of experience in trust and estates law.
  2. Experience with complex estate planning, asset protection planning, and trusts & estates administration.
  3. LLM in Taxation or CPA preferred.
  4. Active membership in the New York State Bar.
  5. Strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
  6. Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Education:

Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

LLM in Taxation or CPA (preferred).
