Job description

What if you could have the autonomy of managing meaningful trust relationships—without feeling like you’re doing it all alone?

Insight Recruitment is conducting a confidential search for an experienced Trust Administrator to join the established Trust Department of a highly respected Nebraska financial institution.

This is an opportunity for a trust, fiduciary or estate-planning professional who wants substantial responsibility, interesting and complex client relationships, and something that can be surprisingly difficult to find in this field:

A genuinely collaborative team and strong support structure.

Rather than being handed a portfolio and expected to operate as the "Lone Ranger," you’ll work alongside experienced Trust Administrators with dedicated trust operations and administrative support behind you.

The team regularly comes together to discuss accounts, troubleshoot complex situations and share knowledge. You’ll have the independence expected of an experienced professional without the isolation that can sometimes come with it.

What You’ll Do

You’ll assume responsibility for a substantial portfolio that may include approximately 250–300 accounts representing $275–$300 million in assets.

Your work will include:

  • Personal trusts and estates
  • Fiduciary and agency relationships
  • Agricultural and real estate assets
  • Foundations
  • IRAs and related accounts
  • Multigenerational family relationships

You’ll serve as a trusted point of contact for clients and beneficiaries while collaborating with attorneys, CPAs, tax professionals and other advisors.

Responsibilities include:
  • Administering trusts, estates, agencies and other fiduciary relationships
  • Interpreting trust and estate documents and determining fiduciary responsibilities
  • Building long‑term relationships with clients, beneficiaries and families
  • Coordinating with legal, tax and other outside professionals
  • Ensuring tax and other account obligations are properly addressed
  • Collaborating closely with Trust Operations and fellow Trust Administrators
  • Participating in regular meetings where the team reviews accounts and works through complex situations together
  • Maintaining relationships with attorneys and other centers of influence
  • Helping retain client relationships and assets across generations
  • Bringing forward ideas that can improve processes and continue moving the department forward

This is a relationship-driven fiduciary role—not a quota-driven sales position. New business develops largely through strong client relationships, professional relationships and referrals.

Why This Opportunity Is Different
You won’t be on an island.

You’ll have experienced colleagues plus dedicated operational and administrative support behind you. When a difficult trust, estate or family situation arises, you have people to collaborate with.

You’ll inherit meaningful work.

This is a significant portfolio with sophisticated trust and estate relationships—not a role where you’ll spend your first year trying to build a book from scratch.

The department is moving forward.

The leadership team has intentionally created greater collaboration, clarity and transparency. They’re interested in someone who will contribute ideas and help continue improving how the department operates.

There is leadership runway.

For someone who wants to advance, there is potential long‑term succession opportunity within Trust leadership. If leadership isn’t your goal, there is also room to build a rewarding long‑term career as an individual contributor.

You’ll build relationships that matter.

Many of these are long‑standing, multigenerational relationships. You’ll get to know clients and families rather than simply process transactions.

Work‑life balance is respected.

The typical schedule is approximately 40 hours per week. There may occasionally be a client or foundation commitment outside regular business hours, but the manager believes in balancing that time elsewhere.

Who We’re Looking For

There isn’t just one career path that could lead to this position.

We’d like to hear from experienced:

  • Trust Administrators
  • Certified Trust and Fiduciary Advisors (CTFA)
  • Fiduciary Advisors
  • Wealth Management / Fiduciary professionals
  • CPAs or tax professionals with substantial trust and estate exposure

The strongest candidates will generally bring 5+ years of directly relevant trust, estate or fiduciary experience and enough practical knowledge to step into a meaningful portfolio.

A CTFA or JD is highly desirable, although strong candidates with significant relevant experience who are willing to pursue an appropriate trust credential may also be considered.

Attorneys should have meaningful experience in estate planning, trusts, estates and/or probate, rather than simply a general legal background.

Experienced estate‑planning paralegals may also be considered when they have substantial hands‑on trust and estate experience and an interest in pursuing the CTFA.

We’re also looking for someone who brings:

  • Excellent relationship and communication skills
  • Sound judgment and discretion
  • General investment knowledge appropriate to fiduciary administration
  • Confidence navigating sensitive family and beneficiary situations
  • The ability to make decisions and hold appropriate boundaries
  • A self‑directed work style
  • A collaborative, team‑oriented approach
  • An interest in building long‑term client relationships
Location
York, Nebraska is the preferred location

but qualified candidates may also work from offices in:

  • York — preferred
  • Murray
  • Columbus
  • Tilden

Candidates working outside York should expect periodic travel to York for meetings and other business needs. Mileage is reimbursed.

This is an on‑site position and does not offer a recurring hybrid or remote schedule.

Relocation assistance may be considered for an exceptional candidate.

Base salary: $100,000–$110,000, with additional flexibility for an exceptionally qualified candidate.

The overall package also includes:

  • Annual incentive program
  • Profit sharing
  • Medical, dental and vision insurance
  • Traditional and Roth 401(k) options
  • Employer‑paid life insurance and long‑term disability for eligible employees
  • PTO, vacation and paid holidays
  • Wellness resources and fitness/wellness assistance
  • Professional development and continuing education
  • Employee assistance program
  • Community involvement opportunities

If you’re an experienced trust or estate professional who wants meaningful responsibility, sophisticated client relationships and a team that actually works as a team, we’d like to talk.
