Overview
We have partnered with a leading building materials company and are seeking a Skilled Truss Designer to join the team. This is a REMOTE opportunity. The Truss Designer will design plans for trussing products and ensure drawings are produced accurately and on time based on customer blueprints. A strong belief in the mission and goals of the company is important.
Requirements to be Considered for the Truss Designer Position
- MitekSoftware is required; knowledge of 8.6.3 is a plus
- Wall Panel Design is a HUGE plus but not required
- Previous experience using truss design software
- High level of knowledge in the application of the products being designed
- Competency in basic mathematics, geometry and trigonometry
- Knowledgeable in reading architectural and structural plans
- Ability to analyze, troubleshoot and problem solve
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office including Word, Excel and Outlook
- Mitek Software knowledge required
- Knowledgeable in the basic aspects of construction

Responsibilities
- Designing: Creates design illustrations based on blueprints to produce working drawings for fabrication; completes and finalizes designs for production and assembly; evaluates designs to ensure standards are met.
- Truss Design Analysis and Troubleshooting: Reviews and analyzes specifications, blueprints, engineered drawings and related designs to determine factors affecting the design of walls, trusses and engineered wood components.
