Overview

We have partnered with a leading building materials company and are seeking a Skilled Truss Designer to join the team. This is a REMOTE opportunity. The Truss Designer will design plans for trussing products and ensure drawings are produced accurately and on time based on customer blueprints. A strong belief in the mission and goals of the company is important.

Requirements to be Considered for the Truss Designer Position

• MitekSoftware is required; knowledge of 8.6.3 is a plus
• Wall Panel Design is a HUGE plus but not required
• Previous experience using truss design software
• High level of knowledge in the application of the products being designed
• Competency in basic mathematics, geometry and trigonometry
• Knowledgeable in reading architectural and structural plans
• Ability to analyze, troubleshoot and problem solve
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office including Word, Excel and Outlook

• Mitek Software knowledge required
• Knowledgeable in the basic aspects of construction
• Previous experience using truss design software
• High level of knowledge in the application of the products being designed
• Competency in basic mathematics, geometry and trigonometry
• Knowledgeable in reading architectural and structural plans
• Ability to analyze, troubleshoot and problem solve
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office including Word, Excel and Outlook

Responsibilities

• Designing: Creates design illustrations based on blueprints to produce working drawings for fabrication; completes and finalizes designs for production and assembly; evaluates designs to ensure standards are met.
• Truss Design Analysis and Troubleshooting: Reviews and analyzes specifications, blueprints, engineered drawings and related designs to determine factors affecting the design of walls, trusses and engineered wood components.
