Job summary

Fieldstone A&E is seeking a SWAT Truss Designer I to join our Tampa team. You will design residential roof and floor truss systems, produce shop-ready component designs, and maintain project files using Fieldstone’s standards.

You’ll collaborate with clients, architects and engineers to resolve technical questions while ensuring high quality outcomes. The role requires strong CAD skills, blueprint reading ability, and knowledge of truss products.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; AA degree preferred.
• Experience in wood truss design/engineering software is valued.
• Able to read and interpret blueprints and architectural drawings.
• Knowledge of truss products and construction techniques.

Responsibilities

• Design residential roof and floor truss systems from project documents using Truss software.
• Produce component designs for shop fabrication.
• Maintain project files per Fieldstone standards.
• Communicate with clients, architects, or engineers on technical plans.
• Manage RFIs and submittals; assist with permit rejections when needed.
