Overview

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Truss Designer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing and creating structural truss systems used in residential and commercial construction. This role requires a strong understanding of structural engineering principles, design software, and industry standards, as well as the ability to work collaboratively with engineers, architects, and construction teams.

Responsibilities
  • Truss Design: Develop detailed designs for alpine trusses, ensuring that they meet safety, durability, and performance standards specific to mountainous environments.
  • CAD and Software Use: Utilize Mitek design software.
  • Structural Analysis: Perform structural calculations and assessments to ensure that trusses will withstand the environmental stresses found in alpine environments, such as snow load, wind resistance, and seismic factors.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with architects, engineers, and construction teams to ensure designs align with overall project goals and are feasible to implement.
  • Code Compliance: Ensure designs comply with local building codes, industry standards, and regulations for alpine and mountain-based structures.
  • Project Management Support: Assist with the preparation of project timelines, cost estimates, and material specifications, and monitor progress to ensure timely delivery of truss systems.
  • Site Visits: Conduct site assessments as needed to verify the feasibility of truss designs and to ensure the correct installation of trusses in challenging terrain.
  • Innovation: Stay up-to-date with emerging design trends, new materials, and innovative construction techniques that can improve the performance and aesthetic of alpine trusses.
Qualifications
  • Proficiency in Mitek design software.
  • Strong understanding of structural analysis, material properties, and load calculations.
  • Familiarity with the specific building codes and regulations governing alpine or mountain construction.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
