Job summary

Toll Brothers in Orlando, FL is seeking a Truss Designer to create roof truss layouts, verify roof planes and pitches, and coordinate with engineers and manufacturing staff.

You will produce truss layouts using MiTek software, review architectural and structural plans, and help ensure accurate, timely production for luxury home projects.

Required: truss certification on DFA software, 2+ years in production wood component design, valid driver's license; MiTek experience preferred.

What is the opportunity?

Create roof truss layouts to verify roof planes and pitches, locate bearing lines, and girder placement for new models, elevations, or options. Configure lot specific truss layouts for permit packages. Design individual roof and floor trusses to aid structural engineers in load transfer and to determine feasibility of manufacturing, shipping, and construction. Coordinate with manufacturing plant personnel and adhere to their standards

Qualifications

Does this describe you?

• Familiar with MiTek, Alpine, or Simpson truss design software (MiTek preferred)
• Possesses basic knowledge of residential wood construction
• Ability to collaborate with staff within and across departments
• Strong work ethic

Do you have these qualifications?

• Essential:
  • Truss certification on any Design for Manufacturing software
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in production wood component design
  • Ability to follow established procedures and meet expectations for accuracy and timeliness
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
• Preferred:
  • MiTek software experience
  • Residential wood construction knowledge
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to work with others
