Job summary

Pro Truss & Panel, LLC in Michigan is seeking a Truss/Wall Panel Builder / Assembler. You will assemble interior and exterior walls, nail components, layout materials, stock supplies, and assist in setting up the assembly process. The role requires following safety rules and working in a plant environment.

Typical duties include operating equipment, verifying dimensions, and maintaining a clean workspace. Experience in building trades is a plus; training is provided.

Qualifications

  • High school or equivalent is preferred.
  • Construction experience is helpful but not required.
  • Must be able to lift 25 lbs repetitively.
  • Read schematics and follow shop procedures.
  • Must comply with safety rules and PPE requirements.

Job Title

Truss/Wall Panel Builder / Assembler

Company Overview

Our company designs, builds, and delivers Commercial, Residential and Multi‑Family engineered structural building components throughout Michigan. We manufacture roof and floor trusses, wall panels, and stairs. Our labor division performs the field installation of these products.

Responsibilities
  • Assemble interior and/or exterior walls.
  • Nail together wall components.
  • Layout component materials or supplies on carts or floor.
  • Stock supplies and materials for assembly set‑up.
  • Assist in the set‑up of component assembly process.
  • Monitor production workflow and assist other areas as needed.
  • Load and band finished components on carts inside and/or outside.
  • Maintain work area, keeping it neat and organized.
  • Operate equipment necessary to the assembly process.
  • Follow all safety rules and policies.
  • Other duties and projects as assigned by management.
  • Assemble precut wooden parts to build trusses and similar supports or wall sections used in building construction.
  • Move specified precut parts to work area and position parts in jig by hand or using an overhead crane, following supervisor’s instructions and blueprint specifications.
  • Place metal reinforcement plates over connecting joints and connect parts at joints, using hammer, screwdriver, or pneumatic staple gun.
  • Verify dimensions of precut parts and accuracy of assembly, using ruler and gauges.
Qualifications
  • Experience in the building trades preferred but not required.
  • Willing to train motivated candidates.
  • Must be able to lift 25 lbs repetitively throughout the day.
  • Must be able to place proper material onto the setup, and be able to read schematics.
  • Ensure the quality of the components by following the standard operating procedures for all machines.
  • Maintain station cleanup procedures.
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures.
  • Comply with all safety rules within the shop area and yard, including wearing proper PPE.
  • Dependable and have reliable transportation.
  • Strong work ethic and organizational skills.
  • Able to work while standing for extended periods of time.
Physical Requirements

Must be able to lift 25 lbs repetitively throughout the day. A majority of the time is spent standing or walking. The associate is frequently required to climb, balance, stoop and kneel. The associate may need to reach above shoulder heights or below waist and lift as required to move, stock, retrieve or store items or product throughout the workday with the ability to move lumber.

Work Environment

This position requires majority of time spent in the plant, which is heated in the winter months and air‑conditioned in summer months.

Expected Hours of Work

Full‑time position. Typical work weeks will be 40 hours plus mandatory overtime if workload dictates, with variation due to seasonal business needs.
