Job summary

Commercial Metals Company (CMC) is seeking a supervisory professional to oversee plant operations, shipping, receiving, and safety. The role requires coordinating with the Operations and Plant Managers to achieve plant goals while upholding CMC safety practices.

The ideal candidate has 1–3 years of supervisor experience, strong communication skills, and a customer-service mindset, with a focus on safety and efficiency in a fast-paced industrial environment.

Qualifications

• Must be able to lead a team and coordinate with operations and plant management.

• Ability to multitask and perform under pressure in a manufacturing environment.
• Commitment to safety policies and environmental compliance.
• Experience supervising drivers and coordinating with carriers is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Supervises plant activities including shipping, receiving, operations, safety and environment.
• Collaborates with Operations Manager and Plant Manager to meet goals.
• Maintains safety and environmental compliance.
• Manages team of drivers and external carriers; negotiates freight rates.
• Oversees transportation assets to meet DOT and safety standards.

What You'll Do

• Supervises activities of Plant including shipping, receiving, operations, safety and environmental
• Must collaborate with Operations Manager and Plant Manager to ensure successful accomplishment of plant goals
• Must be able to maintain and be familiar with safety and environmental concerns
• Manage a team of CMC drivers along with a fleet of external carriers
• Manage relationships with external carriers / negotiate freight rates with external carriers
• Manage transportation assets to make sure our equipment meets DOT standards along with our safety standards
