Job summary

IMC Companies Llc in Columbus, OH, is seeking a Director of Safety to lead the trucking and fleet safety program across a 500-truck network. You will oversee DOT and FMCSA compliance, driver safety, accident prevention, and safety technology deployments.

Working with executives, operations, maintenance, dispatch, HR, and insurance partners, you will analyze safety data, set performance standards, and drive corrective actions to reduce incidents while protecting drivers, assets, and customers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in safety management, transportation, business administration, or related field.
• 7+ years of experience in senior safety leadership roles or similar.
• 5+ years of progressive experience in trucking safety, transportation compliance, or fleet risk management.
• Experience managing safety programs for a large commercial trucking fleet (300–500+ trucks preferred).
• Strong knowledge of DOT/FMCSA regulations, hours-of-service, and safety programs.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and enforce safety policies and performance standards across the fleet.
• Ensure DOT/FMCSA compliance, hours-of-service, ELDs, driver qualification files, and drug/alcohol testing programs.
• Monitor safety metrics, audits, and corrective actions; lead investigations and root-cause analysis.
• Oversee driver onboarding, safety training, coaching, and performance management.
• Lead safety reporting, trend analysis, and improvement recommendations to leadership.
