Job summary

Guzzler Manufacturing is seeking a skilled welder/mechanical assembler to join our manufacturing team in Leeds, Alabama. You will read blueprints and hydraulic schematics, set up and weld truck components, and assemble parts using overhead cranes and forklifts.

The role involves lifting, standing for long periods, and working at height on scaffolding. Qualified candidates have a high school diploma or equivalent, 1 year of mechanical assembly experience, and welding skills.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Trade school experience preferred.
• Minimum 1 year mechanical assembly experience with strong mechanical aptitude.
• Ability to read blueprints and hydraulic schematics; welding skills required.

Responsibilities

• Obtain necessary materials for each weld.
• Grasp and manipulate hand tools to complete welds on truck parts.
• Read and follow tank schematics.
• Grasp and hold steel components for welding.
• Assemble parts and operate overhead crane.
• Weld parts onto partially assembled truck components.
• Lift truck parts to allow coworkers to secure to sub-frames.
• Perform tasks in prolonged postures (bending, kneeling, standing).
• Operate welding equipment while on scaffolding ~20 feet high.
• Complete welding of major components; use forklift to move items above weight limits.
