Job summary

Reading Truck Group is seeking a Truck Installation Technician to install specialty equipment on commercial trucks at our Chesapeake, VA facility. You will follow safety rules, work under supervision, and complete installations such as service bodies, stake bodies, hitches, and other accessories.

The role requires welding, basic electrical work, and ability to read schematics. You will train with seasoned mechanics and contribute to a fast-growing team that delivers durable truck solutions.

Qualifications

• 2+ years welding skills (metal and aluminum).
• 2+ years of electrical wiring experience.
• Ability to build schematics from basic to complex diagrams.
• Hydraulics knowledge and experience is a plus.
• Independent ability to troubleshoot equipment and systems.
• Ability to operate power hand tools and carry basic tools.

Responsibilities

• Install truck bodies, plows, and other commercial truck accessories.
• Mount hitches, shelves, drawers, ladder racks, mud flaps, etc.
• Basic weld experience (helpful).
• Train with other mechanics as needed.
• Perform other duties assigned by Supervisor/Manager.
