Job summary

Reliable Transmission Service provides on-site field service and Truck Shop support in Dayton, OH. The Field Service/Truck Shop Technician level B performs mid-level diagnostics, calibration of ECUs/TCMs, and on-site repairs for customer vehicles at the RTS facility or in the field.

The role requires CDL A/B with P endorsements, Allison R&R experience, DOC software familiarity, and strong safety and customer-service skills; occasional long hours may be needed to meet customer needs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with 3–6 years automotive/truck/heavy equipment experience.
• Allison factory maintenance training as required.
• Allison factory R&R training on 10K products.
• CDL Class A or B with P endorsements.
• Allison Guild participation and related systems access.

Responsibilities

• Receive schedule of daily assignments from supervisor.
• Calibrate ECUs and TCMs.
• Diagnose and install Telma components.
• Electronic troubleshooting and transmission diagnostics.
• Perform Allison warranty work when required.
• Maintain vehicle system knowledge and records.
• Follow all policies and procedures.
• Other duties may be assigned.

Summary

The Field Service/Truck Shop Technician level B is a mid-level service/truck shop technician and performs on-site service and repair of customer vehicle, both in the field and at a RTS facility.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Follows all policies and procedures
• Must possess all abilities for Field Service/Truck Shop Technician level C
• Receive schedule of daily assignments from supervisor
• Must meet or exceed RTS /Allison time guidelines for removal and replacement
• Calibrate ECU’s and TCM’s
• Have the ability to diagnose, troubleshoot and install Telma’s
• Electronic Troubleshooting
• Diagnose and separate transmission problems from vehicle problems
• Perform Allison warranty when required
• Vehicle system knowledge
• Organized record keeping or some filing may be required
• Other duties may be assigned

Education and/or Experience

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED), desired; and three to six of automotive, truck, or heavy equipment experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Use of Allison Extranet accounts
• DOC software knowledge
• CDL Class A or B with P endorsements required
• Allison Guild Participation
