Job summary

U-Haul is seeking a Preventive Maintenance Technician to service Ford and GMC trucks at our Phoenix location. You will help keep the largest truck and trailer fleet in top condition for customers, with access to Ford/GMC training and U-Haul resources.

The role emphasizes safety, teamwork, and hands-on maintenance in a fast-paced shop environment. You’ll perform routine maintenance, oil changes, tire/brake work, and use our electronic pre-inspection checklist to ensure vehicle readiness.

Qualifications

• Basic mechanical aptitude and repair experience preferred
• Driver’s license
• The ability to work as part of a team as well as individually
• Basic mechanical aptitude
• Basic computer skills

Responsibilities

• Secure trucks on lifts and ramps.
• Lubricate suspensions, perform oil changes and replace minor parts.
• Perform tire and brake maintenance.
• Occasionally road-test vehicles
• Use a proprietary electronic pre-inspection checklist.
• Team Members are expected to willingly lend assistance in additional areas as necessary, following the directives and guidance of their supervisor.
