Job summary

Cemstone Ready Mix, Inc. in South St. Paul, MN is seeking a Purchasing Agent for Truck/Automotive Parts. You will direct purchasing for multiple locations, manage inventory levels, and negotiate with suppliers to obtain the best prices and terms.

The role requires experience in purchasing truck/automotive parts, knowledge of heavy equipment or trucks, and a valid driver's license. CDL may be requested. This is a full-time on-site position with comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Five to seven years of progressive experience purchasing truck/automotive parts.
  • Background in heavy equipment repair or direct knowledge of heavy trucks/trailers operating systems.
  • Must be able to read, write and speak English.
  • Must have a valid driver's license; CDL if asked.

Responsibilities

  • Direct the purchase of truck/automotive part stock and non-stock inventory for multiple locations.
  • Administer inventory control and re-buying functions.
  • Follow the company's purchasing policy; establish inventory levels per location and maintain supplier relationships.
  • Negotiate prices and purchase quantity items for best price, discounts, terms and timely delivery.
  • Order parts or supplies for daily repair of equipment across locations; expedite stock orders and direct special orders.
  • Oversee inventory cycle counting and staff training related to inventory entry in computer systems.
  • Review supplier invoices, resolve issues with suppliers and maintain purchase records.
  • Coordinate with Fleet Administrator and accounts payable for billing or pricing issues.

Truck Parts Purchaser page is loaded## Truck Parts Purchaserlocations: South St. Paul, MNtime type: Full timeposted on: Posted Yesterdayjob requisition id: R-102015**Job Summary:****Essential Duties and Responsibilities:** *The basic responsibilities of the Purchasing Agent - Truck/Automotive Parts includes, but is not limited to the following:** Direct the purchase of truck/automotive part stock and non-stock inventory for multiple locations.* Administer the inventory control and re-buying functions.* Follow the company's general purchasing policy; establish inventory levels per location and maintain a good relationship with suppliers and vendor representatives.* Negotiate prices and makes purchases of quantity items in relation to the best purchase price, discounts, terms and timely delivery.* Order parts or supplies needed for the daily repair of equipment at many locations.* Expedite stock orders and direct special orders and drop shipped items.* Supervise the taking of inventory by cycle counting or other methods; select and train employees to assist in the taking of inventory and entry into the computer system.* Review supplier invoices, adjust and solve problems with suppliers.* Maintain required reports and records on file with proper entry of purchases, transfers, price changes into computer purchasing program.* Oversee the processing of all returned goods, parts / cores.* Work with fleet personnel on directing site mechanics and equipment and shop repairs home facility.* Advise management of vendor promotions, specials, new products, and policy changes for cost savings and effective control of inventory.* Work directly with the Fleet Administrator and accounts payable group in regard to billing or pricing issues.**Qualifications:**To perform this position successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job duty satisfactorily.
