American Gypsum Company LLC in Albuquerque, NM, is hiring a Truck Loader to join our team. You will load the proper product and piece count on trucks and railcars safely, following daily procedures to ensure quality and on-time delivery.

This is a full-time, early-shift role with average 10-12 hour shifts, five days a week, starting at 6 am. Overtime is required and a high school diploma or GED is required. Lift up to 25–51+ lbs as needed.

Qualifications

• Candidate should be able to perform basic math and read metrics.
• Forklift experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Load trucks and railcars with correct product and quantity.
• Operate safely around moving equipment and follow safety rules.
• Maintain housekeeping in the rail area and assist with unloading as needed.

JOB SUMMARY:

American Gypsum in Bernalillo, NM is looking to hire a Truck Loader. Truck Loaders are responsible for loading the proper product and piece count on the trucks and railcar in a safe manner. Safety and quality should always be part of the daily operation, to provide a safe workplace and to load the highest quality product possible.

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Education requirement: High School Diploma or GED
• Must be able to lift/ move up to 25 lbs. frequently, up to 51 lbs. occasionally, and 51+lbs rarely.
• Must be able to work at elevated heights while working on top of a railcar.
• Must be able to perform basic math and read/ apply metrics.
• Forklift experience is preferred.

PRIMARY DUTIES:

SAFETY:

• This operations position is a safety-sensitive position due to routine close proximity to moving and automatic equipment as well as mobile equipment.
• Operate in a safe manner, following all plant and departmental safety rules and procedures.
• Know fall protection requirements.
• Know requirements for safe operation of lift-trucks.
• Know the Warehouse Safety Program.
• Maintain housekeeping in the Rail area.
• Pickup slueters from the floor.
• Clean up fluid leaks with absorbent material.
• Other assignments as directed by supervision.
• Be familiar with the MSDS for propane.
• Know the location of storm shelters and exits.
• Know lockout tagout on the Auto Wraptor.

QUALITY:

• Adhere to all quality-related procedures.
• Place culled board in proper location.
• Know product location in the warehouse.
• Know how to properly stack board.

OPERATIONS:

• Know the proper safety procedures in the shrink-wrap area.
• Know how to use shrink gun properly.
• Know how to operate locomotive.
• Know how to use air nail gun properly.
• Know how to use hand tools properly.
• Know the proper tie down procedures.
• Know how to use fall protection.
• Knowledge of prep work.
• Knowledge of auto wraptor.
• Other assignments as directed by supervision.
• Rail car switching.

ADDITIONAL DUTIES:

• Must be flexible with job duties; may be required to fill in on other jobs or in other departments when the business or organization is short-handed.
• Other duties as assigned.

WORK ENVIRONMENT AND CONDITIONS:

• Typically, well-lighted.
• Must be able to work in extreme weather and temperature changes.
• Attention level requirements are high, driving and working around forklifts in high-traffic areas.
• Slippery floor conditions may exist in inclement weather.
• Air quality is good.
