Truck Helper - New River Valley Family Store

The Salvation Army, an internationally recognized, non-profit organization, has a job opening for a Truck Helper at the Family Store located in Fairlawn, VA.

Job Summary

Assists in picking up donations by riding in a Salvation Army truck, lifting, carrying, and hauling donations into the truck, and unloading at the warehouse. Supports the Truck Driver in navigating routes, ensures the accountability, security, and safety of donations, maintains the vehicle's proper working condition, and assists in store and warehouse work, including sorting, pricing, and preparing donated items, and maintaining cleanliness and orderliness.

• Knowledge of the local geographic area.
• Ability to work cooperatively with co-workers.
• Ability to perform general maintenance and cleaning.
• Ability to follow instructions and work independently.
• Ability to meet attendance requirements.
• Proficiency in reading, writing, and communicating in English.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions

Work involves daily vehicle rides, outdoor exposure to weather, noise, dust, dirt, and odors, with work performed in store environments and outdoors.
