Description
SupplyOne’s Local Driver/Warehouse Worker’s main responsibility is to fill in for drivers’ paid time off as needed. Representing SupplyOne as one of our Local Drivers will occur approximately 26 weeks/year, with only 2-4 weeks during the winter months. When not driving, this position will be based in the warehouse assisting with the day-to-day material processing of inbound and outbound loads. Tasks may include loading and unloading trailers, splitting load tags, handling, trucking, and storing raw materials and supplies, scanning, and moving corrugated and consumable products throughout the plant, along with additional assigned tasks. This hybrid role will serve as both a Local Driver and Warehouse Associate depending on daily needs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
As a Warehouse Worker:
- Unload trucks, receive, quality check, and store materials as assigned
- Read customer orders, work orders, shipping orders, or requisitions to determine items to be moved, gathered, or shipped, understanding load tags and notes
- Move materials from receiving or storage to shipping or other designated areas using forklifts or other handling tools
- Use Tablet and RF Gun mounted on forklifts
- Utilize dock plates, dock locks, and wheel chocks safely
- Sort and store materials on racks, shelves, or bins according to size, type, style, color, or product code
- Fill requisitions, work orders, or requests for materials, scan tools, or stock items, and distribute to shipping or trucks
- Assemble customer orders from stock, place or store orders on pallets or shelves, and relocate to holding or shipping areas
- Verify information, count, weigh, or measure items for incoming and outgoing shipments against bills of lading, invoices, or orders
- Record materials received or distributed using appropriate computer programs
- Print delivery receipts and assist in securing loads with bars/straps
- Maintain cleanliness and safety of work area and equipment
As a Driver:
- Complete daily safety checks and verify loads with customer paperwork
- Safely drive trucks to transport materials to designated customers
- Accurately deliver finished products
- Complete and obtain signatures for paperwork
- Maintain courtesy, discretion, and sound judgment during customer interactions
- Follow DOT, safety, and security standards; maintain driver logs and abide by regulations
- Assist in vehicle and trailer maintenance
- Provide customer feedback to SupplyOne
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Successful performance requires meeting the following requirements:
- Valid Class A CDL with endorsements for doubles
- Previous forklift experience
- Knowledge of traffic laws and defensive driving
- Ability to safely operate commercial vehicles and trailers (28, 48, 53’)
- Knowledge of DOT regulations and traffic laws
- Basic reading and math skills
- Excellent customer service skills
- Basic computer skills
- Effective communication skills
