Inland Group of Companies is seeking a part-time Truck Driver to support USPS mail operations at BWI. The role centers on transporting containerized USPS mail between the airport and an off-property sorting facility, with shifts from 2:00–6:00 am or 2:30–6:30 am.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• CDL Class A required.
• SIDA badge or background check for this location.
• Minimum two years of commercial driving experience.
• Mechanical aptitude and basic vehicle maintenance ability.
• Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
• Ability to read and interpret written communication and reports.
• Physical ability to sit and drive long hours, lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Operate and navigate trucks and equipment over four tons.
• Document, record and track required logs per FMCSA/DOT rules.
• Plan routes using maps and local roadways for efficient travel.
• Perform minor vehicle maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Load/unload mail and cargo as required and ensure safety procedures.

The person hired for this position will transport containerized USPS mail from the BWI airport to our off-property sorting facility and then back to the airport. We currently have Part-Time positions only. The hours are 2am-6am, and 2:30am-6:30-am.Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Including but not limited to):Operate and navigate company-owned or leased vehicles in excess of four tons including tractor/trailer/tanker, forklift and mechanized equipment;Document, record, and track all required log sheets IAW, FMCSA, DOT and Quantem Aviation Services, Inc requirements;Knowledge of local major and minor roadways and the ability to effectively use maps and direction for efficient travel routing;Identify, troubleshoot and service devices, parts, and equipment that operate primarily on the basis of mechanical principles;Service truck with fuel, oil and other fluids and perform preventative maintenance to tractor-trailer;Required Skills and Experience:High school diploma or equivalent;Clean driver’s abstract;Must possess CDL Class A LicenseSuccessful completion of the SIDA airport badging or background check process is required for this location.Minimum two years’ commercial driving experience;Mechanical aptitude and ability to perform minor vehicle maintenance;Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing;Ability to read and interpret written communication and reports;Sitting while driving for long periods of time in possible inclement weather;Ability to use hands and arms to install, position, move and manipulate items;Ability to climb, balance, walk, stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, crawl and handle materials;Ability to lift up to 50 pounds;A valid driver’s license is required for this position.Work Environment:Position requires sitting and driving for long periods of time.Physical Demands:Must be able to use hands to handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms;Able to speak and hear efficiently.The Inland Group of Companies offers a variety of opportunities to work in the field of aviation.
