Job summary

CHS Inc. in Holdrege, NE is seeking a Driver/Operations Specialist to haul liquid fertilizer to local customers and support site operations when driving is slow. A Class A CDL is required and highly preferred; Class B will be considered for the right candidate.

A tanker endorsement is required, and we will assist in obtaining it if missing. The role involves preparing trucks, loading/unloading agricultural inputs, performing maintenance, and ensuring safety and compliance with hours of service.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED preferred.
  • Maintain or obtain CDL and DOT medical card.
  • Ability to work additional hours and occasional weekends.
  • Hazmat, Tanker, and Air Brake endorsements preferred.
  • Agriculture background preferred.
  • Customer service experience preferred.
  • Bulk liquid, Pressure trailer, or Forklift experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out general labor responsibilities promptly and efficiently.
  • Prepare trucks and railcars for loading/unloading including sampling, loosening large nuts, opening hatches, and attaching hoses.
  • Load and unload agricultural inputs using machinery or equipment.
  • Conduct and record repairs and maintenance tasks.
  • Monitor and maintain quality of inventory.
  • Deliver products to customer sites safely and accurately.
  • Ensure compliance with all laws including pre- and post-trip reporting and hours of service.
  • Maintain clean and safe work areas and vehicles.
  • Perform grounds maintenance including snow removal.
  • Perform warehouse duties including forklift operation.
  • Report customer complaints and safety concerns promptly.
  • Maintain and promote a strong safety culture.
  • Follow all company policies and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Summary

CHS is looking for a Driver/Operations Specialist to join our team in Holdrege! This individual will haul liquid fertilizer products to local customers in the area, and work operations at the site when driving is slow.

A Class A CDL is required for this position and highly preferred. We would be willing to work with Class B drivers to upgrade their license for the right candidate. A tanker endorsement is also required; we will help a candidate obtain this if they do not have one.

Minimum Qualifications (required)
  • Knowledge of Operations and/or Trucking Operations
  • Ability to read, write and communicate in English
  • Must meet minimum age requirement
Additional Qualifications
  • High School diploma or GED preferred
  • Maintain or be able to obtain a CDL and DOT medical card

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift 75 lbs
  • Ability to climb rail cars, ladders, stairs and bins, and into back of trailer
  • Ability to work in dust and adverse weather conditions and temperatures

Actual pay offered will vary based on multiple factors which may include, without limitation, experience, education, training, specialized skills and certifications, minimum wage/salary requirements under local law.
