Ryder System, Inc. is hiring a non-CDL truck driver for North Aurora, IL. The role offers local home daily routes, weekly pay, and benefits after 30 days. Expect a 40+ hour work week with a Wednesday–Saturday schedule and start times that vary. You will operate yard tractors with 48' or 53' trailers and maintain safety standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum 21 years of age.
• Verifiable driving experience in similar equipment.
• Pass a Ryder Drug Test.
• Pass Ryder Background and Motor Vehicle check for last 3 years.
• Pass a DOT physical.
• Pass a Yard Driver Examination.
• Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Safely handling and maneuvering tractor trailers on the yard; not driving on public roads.

Requirements

• Minimum 21 years of age
• Must have verifiable driving experience in "like" equipment:
• 9 Months experience in the past 3 years, OR
• 2 years' experience within the last 5 years, OR
• 5 years' experience within the last 10 years
• Pass a Ryder Drug Test
• Pass a Ryder Background and Motor vehicle check including Drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years
• Pass a DOT physical
• Pass a Yard Driver Examination
• Must have a valid driver's license
• Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions
• Ability to read, interpret and apply laws, rules, regulations policies and/or procedures

Responsibilities

• Ensuring compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, and/or agency rules, standards and guidelines
• Detecting and eliminating or minimizing safety hazards
• Maintaining accurate records and logs
• Maintaining accurate move and yard inventory records Other tasks as assigned
