Ryder System, Inc. in Edgewood, NY is seeking a NON-CDL Truck Driver for a local, home-daily route.

This Regular-Full time position offers weekly pay, a comprehensive benefits package after 30 days, and the opportunity to build a steady trucking career with a respected logistics leader. You will drive a 26' box truck within a 250-mile radius of Edgewood, with local home daily routes, 40–50 hours per week, paid training, and no weekend work.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 months of verifiable driving experience.
• Must have a valid driver's license.
• Pass a Ryder Drug Test and background check from the last 3 years.
• Pass a DOT physical and a Ryder road test.
• Schedule: Monday – Friday; no weekends.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate a 26' box truck on local routes within Edgewood, NY and surrounding area.
• Deliver freight within the local home-daily route and maintain accurate logs.
• Follow all safety regulations, company policies and driving rules.
• Assist with loading/unloading freight if required by customer.
• Support team goals and provide reliable customer service.

Requirements

• Minimum 21 years of age
• Minimum of 6 months of verifiable driving experience
• Pass a Ryder Drug Test
• Must have verifiable driving experience (*must be in like equipment if position being applied for is operating a straight truck or box truck):
• 6 Months experience in the past 3 years, OR
• 2 years' experience within the last 5 years, OR
• 5 years' experience within the last 10 years
• Pass a Ryder Background and Motor vehicle check including Drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years
• Pass a DOT physical
• Pass a Ryder road test
• Must have a valid driver’s license
• Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions
• Ability to read, interpret and apply laws, rules, regulations policies and/or procedures

This position does not require the operation of CDL-regulated equipment. However, candidates who possess a valid Commercial Drivers License will be subject to FMCSA requirements, including but not limited to, pre-employment Drug and Alcohol Clearinghouse query.

Responsibilities

• This position is primarily responsible for safely driving a vehicle within and requires compliance with safety regulations, continuous training and customer service.
• Additional Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Ensuring compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, and/or agency rules, standards and guidelines
• Detecting and eliminating or minimizing safety hazards
• Maintaining accurate records Loading/Unloading freight or assisting in the loading/unloading of freight if required by customer
• Other tasks as assigned
