The Salvation Army, an internationally recognized non-profit, faith-based organization, has an opening for Truck Driver/Mover at the Waco Corps, located in Waco, TX.

Job Summary

Under the direction of the Corps Officers, drives Salvation Army owned vehicle loading and unloading routine pickups and/or deliveries of material, donated or otherwise, to serve production needs of the store and/or general operation of corps.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

1. Knowledge of the assigned geographical area.
2. Ability to organize pick-up tickets and to schedule route in a manner that saves time and gasoline consumption.
3. Ability to work effectively and cooperatively with co-workers.
4. Ability to present a positive and professional image of The Salvation Army.

Education and Experience

1. High school diploma or G.E.D.
2. Prior experience driving a box truck.
3. Any equivalent combination of training and experience providing the required knowledge, skills and abilities.

Certifications

Valid State Drivers License

Physical Requirements/Working Conditions

1. Ability to meet attendance requirements.
2. Ability to read, write and communicate the English language effectively.
3. Ability to read and follow a map and/or hand-written directions.
4. Ability to perform continuous walking, stooping, standing, and some climbing.
5. Ability to drive a box truck safely and in compliance with laws, policies, and regulations.
6. Duties require frequent periods of physical mobility including but not limited to standing, walking, climbing, bending, squatting, and lifting. Physical duties may be relieved by brief or occasional periods of sitting.
7. Extensive amount of physical effort required associated with lifting, moving, and carrying heavy objects (more than 50 lbs.) frequently.
