ServiceSource is hiring a Medium Truckdriver to operate straight trucks up to 4 tons, delivering cargo to regional armories and field outposts from Ft. Indiantown Gap, PA.

The role requires pre/post-trip inspections, strict adherence to cold-chain parameters, and coordination with Shipping & Receiving for load verification. Candidates should have a High School diploma or equivalent, a CDL (B or A preferred), a clean MVR, and 2+ years of commercial driving experience.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Operate straight trucks (1.5 to 4 tons, 6-wheel configuration) to transport cargo, subsistence lines, and water to regional armories and field outposts.
• Coordinate with Shipping & Receiving Specialist to verify load manifests, vehicle security seals, and outbound bills of lading before departure.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, tracking fluid levels, tire pressures, brakes, and reefer functionality.
• Ensure temperature-controlled cargo stays within cold-chain parameters, logging container temperatures as required.
• Assist warehouse crews in blocking, bracing, and securing cargo inside the truck bed to prevent shifting.
• Maintain trip logs, delivery receipts, and hours-of-service documentation in DOT compliance.

Job Summary

The Medium Truckdriver operates straight trucks ranging from 1.5 to 4 tons inclusive (usually 6 wheels) to safely transport cargo, materials, and subsistence supplies to designated external locations. They verify transport documents, maintain vehicle safety checks, and coordinate route schedules with dock leads. May load or unload truck with or without assistance.

Primary Duties

• Operate straight trucks (1.5 to 4 tons, 6-wheel configuration) to transport cargo, subsistence lines, and water to regional state armories and field outposts.

• Coordinate directly with the Shipping & Receiving Specialist to verify load manifests, vehicle security seals, and outbound bills of lading before departure.

• Perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, tracking fluid levels, tire pressures, brakes, and refrigeration unit functionality.

• Ensure that temperature-controlled cargo remains securely within strict cold-chain parameters during transit, logging container temperatures as required.

• Assist warehouse labor crews in safely blocking, bracing, and securing palletized cargo inside the truck bed to prevent shifting during transport.

Additional Responsibilities

• Maintain meticulous trip logs, delivery receipts, and hours-of-service documentation in complete compliance with state and federal DOT regulations.

• Execute safe, professional offloading procedures at regional drop sites, obtaining authorized receiving signatures from unit representatives.

• Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 55 pounds without assistance; reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping.

• Operate hand trucks and/or power jacks.

• Perform other responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications: Education, Experience and Certification(s)

• High school diploma or equivalent, required.

• Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL Class B or A), preferred.

• Clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) with no major infractions, required with a valid driver's license.

• Minimum of 2 years of commercial driving experience operating medium straight trucks or refrigerated transport vehicles preferred.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Expert driving skills and a flawless commitment to defensive road safety.

• Familiarity with medium straight-truck mechanics and the operation of mobile refrigeration (reefer) cooling units.

• Ability to accurately navigate regional travel routes while strictly maintaining tight delivery arrival windows.

• Strong communication skills to interface professionally with regional armory personnel during drop-offs.

Physical Demands

The employee Must be able to sit and maintain focus during extended driving intervals, climb into and out of medium truck cabs and cargo beds unassisted. Must be able to lift or move products and supplies, up to 55 pounds, and work in cold temperatures. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Work Environment

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet.

This position operates primarily inside a medium commercial delivery vehicle traveling over public roads beyond the main physical establishment. Regular exposure to outdoor weather elements occurs during loading and unloading sequences at regional armories. Hours can vary.
