Truck Driver/Material Handler
Position Summary
The Driver / Material Handler is responsible for safely transporting goods over public roadways between Aspen's main facility and its storage facilities. This position also supports general warehousing activities. Must be able to work 12-hour shifts; 4 days on/4 days off, night shift flexibility is a must.
Major Duties and Responsibilities
- Safely transport goods to or from designated locations following all company, local, state, and federal procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Load and unload goods from trailers using forklifts or other material handling equipment.
- Scan or create logs of goods movement data for inventory transfer verification and transactions.
- Perform daily inspection and maintenance procedures on all transport equipment, including tractors, trailers, forklifts, etc., and log inspection results accordingly.
- Report any safety or mechanical issues to the supervisor before using equipment, and obtain approval prior to operation.
- Follow all safety codes, rules, and requirements, maintaining a safe and clean work environment, and complying with work procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Complete all required safety, health, and environmental training.
- Report all safety incidents, including near misses, immediately to the supervisor or manager.
- Carry out other tasks as assigned by the manager or supervisor.
Specific Skills
- Maintenance of a Class A Commercial Driver's License, including all required drug testing, physical health checks, DOT, or other training.
- Proficient in reading and writing in English.
- Capability to operate a forklift.
- Ability to routinely lift up to 50 pounds.
Experience/Education
- High school diploma required.
- Class A Commercial Driver's License required, preferably with H and T endorsements.
- Minimum of 3 years' driving experience.
- Clean driving safety record required.
