Job summary

BTD is a fast-growing metalworking company seeking a Class A truck driver to transport products between BTD facilities and to outside service vendors across several states. You will follow safety policies and maintain accurate time and payroll records.

The role requires at least 2 years of Class A driving, a valid CDL and Medical Card, and a clean driving record with knowledge of motor carrier rules. High school diploma required.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • At least 2 years of Class A driving experience with tractor-trailer operation.
  • Valid Class A CDL and Medical Card.
  • Knowledge of State and Federal motor carrier regulations.
  • Ability to operate, load, and maintain Class A equipment safely.
  • Ability to understand and follow routine instructions.
  • Accident-free driving record for at least 2 years.
  • No violations, MVR or roadside inspection history in the past 2 years.

Responsibilities

  • Drive trucks and deliver to vendors and between BTD locations across multiple states.
  • Complete vehicle circle checks and pre/post inspections on every trip.
  • Assist in scheduling maintenance of truck and trailer.
  • Enter time/payroll information using software.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area and follow safety rules.
  • Cover routes similar to current route.

Essential Functions
  • Drives company trucks and deliver products to outside service vendors and between BTD locations between different states.
  • Completes vehicle circle checks and pre/post inspections on every trip.
  • Responsible for proper maintenance and care oftruck.
  • Assistin scheduling maintenance of truck and trailer.
  • Reports improper operation, faulty equipment, defectivematerialsand unusual conditions to supervisor.
  • Followsall established safety rules and regulations.
  • Mustrepresentthe Company in a professional, honest, and forthright manner.
  • Maintains a clean and safe work area.
  • Usessoftware programs to enter time/payroll information, job information, etc.
  • Ability to cover routes that are similar to currentroute.

Graduation from high school or equivalent.

Experience and Skills Required

At least 2 years of recent Class A driving experience that includes the following skills and abilities:

  • Strong working knowledge oftractor-traileroperation,loadingand minor maintenance.
  • Strong working knowledge of State and Federal motor carrier regulations.
  • Ability tooperate, load andmaintainClass A truck/trailer equipment in a safe, effective manner.
  • Must have a valid Class A CommercialDriver’sLicenseand Medical Card.
  • Ability to understand, follow and issue routine oral and written instructions.
  • Ability toestablishand maintain effective working relationships with others.
  • Strong working knowledge of load securement of skidded coil loads.
  • At least 2yearsaccident free.
  • At least 2 years of no violations,MVRand roadside inspection.

Compensation Salary Range

OTC6: $23.81- $33.35 per hour. The range for this position is being displayed in compliance with all state and local regulations. Salaries are set based on a number of factors to include an individual's job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and education. This means that no two candidates are alike. Please keep in mind that the range mentioned above is the full base salary range for the role. Hiring at the maximum of the range would not be typical in order to allow for future & continued salary growth. The range provided above does not include additional compensation such as bonus, health benefits, vacation, 401(K) match, etc.
