Job summary

Wilsonart, Dallas, has an immediate opening for a Truck Driver II. This individual will conduct assigned deliveries, load and unload trucks in the department/location, and perform other tasks as required.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES include loading/unloading, inspecting equipment, driving to destinations, maintaining logs, and following safety rules. HazMat knowledge and a valid Class A license with endorsements are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Class A CDL with HazMat and Tanker endorsements.
• 3+ years of 18-wheeler experience; clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Loads and unloads materials.
• Inspects truck equipment and supplies.
• Drives truck to destinations and returns safely.
• Maintains truck log according to state and federal regulations.
• Prepares and maintains required documentation.
• Performs emergency roadside repairs.
• Monitors hazardous material trailer identification.
• Reads maps and plans routes to load destinations.
• Keeps a clean driving record and safe operations.
• Assists customer needs and distribution center as required.

Truck Driver II – Position Overview

Wilsonart, Dallas, has an immediate opening for a Truck Driver II.This individual willconduct assigned deliveries. Loads and unloads trucks in the assigned department/location. Performs other tasks as required.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Loads and unloads materials
• Inspects truck equipment and supplies
• Drives truck to destinations and returns safely
• Maintains truck log according to state and federal regulations
• Prepares and maintains required documentation
• Performs emergency roadside repairs
• Positions hazardous material trailer identification
• Reads maps and plans routes to the load destination
• Maintains acceptable driving record
• Assists the needs of the customer
• Assists in the distribution center as necessary or directed
• May require overnight stays
• Performs other tasks as required

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

• Knowledge of Department of Transportation and state regulations and local laws pertaining to vehicle operations
• Knowledge of truck hauling procedures
• Knowledge of hazardous waste materials and safe handling procedures
• Skill in operating lift trucks
• Ability to understand and follow directions
• Ability to work independently and as a team
• Knowledge of safety standards applicable to the work area and other rules/regulations governing work activities

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION

High School Graduate or GED

Must have a valid Class A Commercial Driver’s license

Hazardous material endorsement & Tanker endorsement

EXPERIENCE

3+ years
18 wheeler experience
No chargeable accidents in three years

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Continuous physical exertion is required, such as walking/pushing/climbing and lifting material or equipment of heavy weight (>50 lbs) Examples: grounds staff and EMS

ENVIRONMENT: Located in an environment with regular exposure to fumes or odors, temperature extremes, or loud noises which cause noticeable discomfort or moderate risk of accident or illness. Examples: engineering, waste mgt, laundry workers and yards/grounds staff
