Job summary

Meijer Inc. is hiring Class A drivers for local, home daily routes across the Newport area. You will deliver freight from distribution centers to stores on schedule while maintaining a strong safety record and DOT compliance.

This full-time role offers year-round work with consistent schedules and the support of a stable Midwest retailer expanding its private fleet. As part of the Meijer Private Fleet, you’ll enjoy weekly pay, scheduling flexibility, and opportunities for advancement through

Qualifications

• 21 years of age or older.
• Valid CDL-A license.
• Hazmat endorsement or ability to obtain one.
• One year of truck driving experience or completion of an accredited CDL training program.
• Ability to pass a DOT physical, road test, and pre-employment drug screen.
• No moving violations within the last year.
• No more than two moving violations within the last three years.
• Ability to work days, nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate Class A commercial vehicles.
• Deliver freight from Meijer distribution centers to stores on schedule.
• Transport vendor backhauls to distribution centers.
• Perform yard switching and trailer movements as needed.
• Follow all DOT, company, and safety regulations.
• Represent Meijer with professionalism and a customer-first mindset.
