Position Summary: Penske Truck Leasing seeks motivated and qualified applicants for the role of Hiker (Vehicle Transporter/Truck Driver). Responsibilities include vehicle delivery and return to Penske locations and customers. The position involves moving box trucks up to 26’ and, for CDL Class A drivers, tractors and trailers. Assistance with parts and equipment delivery to the service department may also be required. This casual, on-call part-time role is ideal for CDL Class B or A license holders seeking supplemental income, with hours ranging from 0 to 25 per week based on business needs.

Major Responsibilities:

• Follow safety procedures while driving trucks to designated locations
• Inspect vehicles for mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment issues and report findings
• Obtain receipts or signatures for delivered goods and collect payments when necessary
• Report vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations, or damage
• Perform other tasks as assigned by supervisor

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of driving experience
• Clean DMV motor vehicle record for 2 years
• CDL Class B license required; CDL Class A preferred
• Ability to read and follow written instructions
• Ability to work independently with good customer service and organizational skills
• English language proficiency as per federal law (49 C.F.R. 391.11(b)(2))
• Reliable attendance is essential
• Willingness to travel and work the required schedule at designated locations
• Must pass background check, drug screening, and maintain a driver qualification file (including MVR check, DOT physical, and safety history)

Physical Requirements:

• Must see and hear adequately, including close and distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment
• Frequent movement, standing, walking, and sitting required
• Ability to handle, lift, and move up to 50 lbs regularly and occasionally up to 100 lbs
• Ability to operate a vehicle safely and enter/exit regularly
