Position Summary:

Penske Truck Leasing is seeking highly motivated and qualified applicants for the position of Hiker (Vehicle Transporter/Truck Driver). This role involves vehicle delivery, returning vehicles to Penske locations and customers, primarily moving box trucks up to 26’. CDL Class A drivers will also handle tractors and trailers. The position may also assist the service department with delivering parts and equipment.

This casual/part-time truck driving job is ideal for licensed CDL Class B or CDL Class A drivers seeking supplemental income, with work hours ranging from 0 to 25 hours per week based on business needs.

Work location: 13000 NW South River Dr, Medley, FL 33178

Work hours/shift: Mon, Wed, Fri (6:30/7 am - 2:30/3:30 pm)

Major Responsibilities:

1. Follow safety procedures while driving trucks to Penske or customer locations.
2. Inspect vehicles for mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment issues; report findings to the location manager.
3. Obtain receipts or signatures for deliveries and collect payments when required.
4. Report vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations, or damage.
5. Perform other tasks as assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications:

• Minimum 2 years of driving experience.
• Clean DMV motor vehicle record for at least 2 years.
• CDL Class B license required; CDL Class A preferred.
• Ability to read and follow written instructions.
• Ability to work independently, demonstrate customer service, organizational skills, and maintain a positive attitude.
• Regular and predictable attendance is essential.
• Compliance with DOT regulations, including maintaining a driver qualification file, MVR checks, DOT Physical, Safety Performance History, and drug screening.
• Willingness to travel, work the required schedule, and pass background and drug tests.
• Ability to work safely and responsibly, accepting accountability for safety.

Physical Requirements:

• Must see and hear adequately, including close, distance, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
• Frequent movement, standing, walking, sitting, and handling objects.
• Regularly lift/move up to 50 lbs and occasionally up to 100 lbs.
• Ability to operate a motor vehicle safely and enter/exit the vehicle and cargo area regularly.
